Chapter II — 2014–Present

Mama Dada's Portals

Immersive Installation
Moniker Gallery · Nuit Blanche · Black Cat Artspace · Belljar Café · 2014–Present

Thresholds, Not Stages

The Portals are a series of immersive film-installation works that translate the Haus myth into embodied passage. Born with Triangle: Ascension Into Another Golden Age (2014), these walk-through environments use wind, light, vibration, scent, and quadraphonic sound to create thresholds rather than stages. They are made of ephemeral materials — film, mirror, fabric, breath — and they insist that visitors become performers by the very act of moving.

Overlapping projections create liminality; wind and vibration recalibrate attention; irregular musical rhythms open a viewer's capacity to drift. The Portals acted as a bridge between the Haus of Dada mythology and the later spiritual expanses of Intangible Adorations.

“They are made of ephemeral materials — film, mirror, fabric, breath — and they insist that visitors become performers by the very act of moving.”
